Our newels are hand-carved from premium selected hardwood: hard maple, cherry, and white oak. These newel posts are carved in deep relief with grapevine motif and are triple sanded, ready to accept stain or paint. The bottom portion of this newel post is square and measures 5-3/8″ x 5-3/8″. The center part of the newel post is turned and than had-carved with an elegant grape design, deep fluting, and a running grape leaf motif. The upper square portion of the newel measures 5″ x 5″ and the crown has a masterfully carved newel finial.
